Several years ago, I was building out my garden. At the time we lived in British Columbia, Canada and, for the first time, the plants I had planted, grew. It was the joy of seeing nature so vibrant and close inspired me to pick up my pencils again.
I started sketching the vegetables in my garden and it was if my eyes had been reopened to the world. If I saw something, I wanted to capture it in pencil or pencil crayon.
Thus began my journey. I have no formal art training other than 5 years of high school art class but I have never felt freer to capture the world around me than now.
Unlike school where you worry about composition, technique, building a portfolio – these works I have created because the subject inspired me.
It is my pleasure to share these with you.
With love,
Kath
